By road - Take the A14 main highway from Mombasa towards Lunga Lunga at the border and about 2km after crossing the Ramisi River you should see the signs on your left to Shimoni. Be aware of some speed bumps just before the turn off that are very poorly marked. A new tarmac road to Shimoni was opened in early 2019 reducing the time considerably. Stay on this road for 15km until the road terminates in the village of Shimoni. Turn right and follow the coast west (The sea should be on your left) until you see the sign on your left for "Pat and Simon Hemphill".
By air - the main international airport is located at Mombasa, which will necessitate a 2hr taxi journey to Shimoni, a distance of approximately 100km. However, there is a smaller airport at Ukunda/Diani Beach serviced by Fly540, Jambo Jet and Safarilink most of which fly from Wilson Airport in Nairobi. JamboJet Jet does operate flights to Ukunda from the main Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi.
